Sunshine was rescued from the Arlington Animal Shelter off of the euthanasia list back in May only a few hours before her euthanasia time was set! She was rescued and her forever family picked her up from the shelter and took her home. Several months later on August 23rd she escaped her yard for the first time and got into a neighbor’s trash area. All of a sudden, without warning she was shot by another neighbor. They were horrified to see that their dog had been shot in the leg. They took her to the vet, hoping for the best but they were told that she would need her leg amputated and it would cost $1,000. The owner was having financial problems as he was still paying off his own sister’s funeral from a few months ago. He had no other choice but to put her to sleep. PAAS volunteers and Sponsor Adoptions, Inc. worked together to get a chip-in fund for this girl to have surgery. Contributions from generous and big hearted folks from all over poured in and she was saved again! She did not have her leg amputated and instead had her surgery and is now recovering with smiles! Donations for Sunshine through PAAS and Sponsor Adoptions Inc. helped her and her ‘furever’ home afford her surgery.
“Thank you to everyone who supported her through this and have been rooting for her! Also, a big thank you to Sponsor Adoptions, Inc. and Partners of Arlington Animal Services for helping spread her story to raise money.” – Apollo Support & Rescue
